Dallas June 10, 2013---Biometric Signature ID (BSI) CEO Jeff Maynard announced today that its award winning, patented software biometric, BioSig-ID is being used in 48 countries and all 50 states for student ID verification.
This growth has contributed to the company’s 1000% growth in sales. Needing to comply with the revised Education Act, institutions with online courses must now have a process to identify that the student that signs up and takes an online course is the “real” student.
BioSig-ID employs gesture biometrics, measuring the unique way a user moves their mouse, finger or stylus (speed, direction, length, height, width and angle) to create a password. The user is authenticated against the pattern from their previously created password and if identity is confirmed, access to the device, files or accounts is granted. Imposters are stopped. Even if imposters gained access to the password they must complete an extra step: duplicate the unique patterns of the password – virtually impossible.
“We are very enthusiastic about the excellent demand for BioSig-ID and we believe this is due to the 98% high acceptance level of the software by users, our self service password reset and the need to comply with regulatory requirements. Another reason students love the product is in initial trials with the product, 45% of first time users reported they found the software entertaining,” said Maynard.
The patented software only biometric – BioSig-ID, requires NO additional hardware, providing a cost effective solution that can be used on any mobile, tablet or PC device. BioSig-ID’s new robust report tool captures all student activity to identify suspicious behavior. Schools can now analyze this data to uncover fraudulent use of identity and possible financial aid fraud.
