Biometric Signature ID Secures Series A Equity Investment from Mohegan Biometrics LLC Biometric Signature ID, Inc. (BSI), developers of patented gesture biometrics software for Identity authentication over the Internet, announced today that they have closed a Series A financing with Mohegan Biometrics, LLC, a subsidiary of the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut. This investment is consistent with the tribal Council’s strategy to diversify its revenue sources by pursuing other non-gaming investment opportunities. The Tribes’ Business Diversification Department identifies and evaluates various diversification opportunities in commercial enterprises and technologies such as BSI’s gesture biometrics. Bruce "Two Dogs" Bozsum, Chairman of the Mohegan Tribal Council said “We are very pleased to participate as a partner with BSI as their technology is becoming the new gold standard for online identity authentication and security.” The use of the BSI technology for online identity verification will help prevent fraud, comply with industry specific legislation, and increase the ability to “know your customer” ensuring that only a registered user gains access to their digital assets after a log in using BioSig-ID software. Additionally, by implementing BSI’s uSignOnline technology, registered users will have the added feature of “authorizing” the use of their credit card or funds transfer with confidence. BSI Invited to Participate in Microsoft’s Cross-Sector Digital Identity Project We're excited to have been invited to participate in a two-day Cross-Sector Digital Identity Project imagining session at Microsoft's Reston office at the end of August. This proof-of-concept (POC) workshop brought together a handful of technology vendors and private and public sector professionals, from government to banking, to discuss the use of NSTIC (National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace) concepts to accelerate the use of trusted digital identity credentials. We're looking forward to participating in more of these POCs in the future as they will help open the door to new ways of creating a safe way to transact business on the Internet.

Biometric Signature ID Awarded Second Patent for Multi-factor Identity Proofing Technology Patented gesture biometrics adds security layers for supporting multi-factor authentication from multiple input devices using a low-cost, scalable web service deployment that does not require any special hardware or downloads. Biometric Signature ID, Inc. (BSI) announced today that they received their second patent for their dynamic gesture biometric technology used for identity proofing from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The patented technology captures the movements made with various input devices such as your mouse, touch screen, finger or other body movements to enroll and create a biometric multi-factor password that is used to identify the “Who” is trying to gain access to devices or systems. BSI is the only software company with patented dynamic, biometric technology that exceeds government recommendations in the $12.6B Identity and Access Management (IAM) authentication market. BSI’s BioSig-ID ™ was tested by The Tolly Group to be 99.97% accurate in keeping impostors from gaining access and received a 98% user acceptance rating from first time users who completed customer surveys. The two issued patents support a strong suite of Intellectual Property (IP) of over 44 claims dating back to 2004 for their dynamic, gesture biometrics and picture password technology. The technology includes a multi-layer approach to security along with a reputation score application, which manages users credibility on the Internet. “BSI is please to add this new patent to our existing intellectual property portfolio and be the pioneer in providing a new gesture biometric technology for identity proofing that is delivered as a web service. Since our ...

Securing Mobile and Cloud Computing

July 04, 2011  |   BSI Product Overview   |     |   Comments Off

Securing Mobile and Cloud Computing As we become more mobile in our computing activities from banking, shopping, working and education, cyber crime is also increasing and costing individuals and businesses billions of dollars each year. According to the DOJ, in the past two years, it is estimated that over 11.7 million Americans were victims of identity theft. Even the FBI reports that "identity theft has emerged as a dominant and pervasive financial crime that exposes individuals and businesses to significant losses and undermines the credibility and operation of the entire U.S. financial system." [caption id="attachment_1285" align="alignright" width="361" caption="BSI authenticates the WHO before granting access"][/caption] One of the reasons this is happening is the security and management, rather lack of management, of passwords by only requiring a single layer to protect data which makes it very easy for cyber criminals to gain access to systems and devices. The White House has created a new program, National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC), where they are working to create an Identity Ecosystem which will utilize trusted credentials to prove the identity of the person gaining access. Creating a secure environment for protecting data ...
